The Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy is a quasi-military style program for at risk school dropouts, and is sponsored by the North Carolina National Guard. The mission of the Academy is to redirect the efforts of young adults who have had trouble succeeding in the normal high school environment, and give them the skills and attitude to become productive citizens in their communities.



The mission of the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program is to intervene in and reclaim the lives of 16-18 year old high school dropouts, producing program graduates with the values, life skills, education, and self-discipline necessary to succeed as productive citizens.



The National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program is a community-based program that leads, trains and mentors 16-18 year old high school dropouts so that they may become productive citizens in America’s future.
